Deviation M-0033-S refers to a free model listed as "Yorick (ORIGINAL)", visually identical to the avatar of Yorick, a known alt account of the former Roblox admin Shedletsky, and ostensibly uploaded by the Yorick account; though there is no evidence elsewhere suggesting that the account even owns the model.
The earliest known mention of this phenomenon online was in a forum post by user halogod902 in May of 2009, which can be seen in the attached image. It is inconclusive whether or not the Yorick model was active before then. Its original date of posting lies unknown, however it is mainly theorized it released a little before or around the forum post.
The anomaly becomes apparent when the Yorick model is placed in a Roblox Studio instance. Upon placement, the model will edit the entire game to solely credit Yorick for most, if not all, features of the game. Text outside of the game, such as advertisements or posts, will also be changed to credit Yorick. Affected users have a tendency to wholeheartedly believe, and insist, that Yorick was responsible for "doing all the work", and that they merely "helped out here and there" regarding their creation. Additionally, any projects acknowledging or pertaining to the Yorick model will credit him as an assistant in their creation.
Past the initial encounter, subjects will continue to credit Yorick as a collaborator for any creative endeavors in a 6 month period thereafter, an event colloquially referred to as Yorick's Blessing. This effect extends to any form of creative output by the affected user, including games, models, writing, artwork, and music, regardless of whether Roblox is involved. As an example, one affected developer's YouTube channel was found to have included "Special thanks to Yorick for helping me out with this video!" in the description of every video for a period of 6 months.
Multiple attempts to nullify the effects of Yorick's Blessing have been made over the years, although to no avail. Attempts to edit or remove these attributions tend to result in the author reverting these changes within minutes, often expressing guilt for "trying to take credit for Yorick's hard work". Deleting the Yorick model will result in all text within the game (including scripts) being replaced with "Alas, poor Yorick!" until the model is added back, in which case, the text will revert back to how it was before.
Thank you to Yorick for his assistance in documenting this deviation!
God, his dreaded curse even infected the damn entry. Through difficult work, we've managed to inherently take down the model's listing on the Toolbox and managed to keep the Yorick model in containment. Although it appears humanoid, its truly a model due to its lack of humanoid movement as it has never been documented to speak, roam, or provide any bodily gestures.
