Deviation 0009, also known as Self-Aware Hints, Living Hints, or Sentient Hints, are a self-inserting hint instance that randomly appears in any user's studio-files of games.
It is unknown what stimulates Self-Aware Hints to appear in a game file, but it is known that it is more commonly found in games that use the Hint instance more than others.
This is one of the very few deviations that cause little to no harm to RDD, and it is unknown whether or not these life-forms come from something that previously lived,
or are an artificial intelligence with a mind of its own.
These hints pose little-to-no threat at all, as they are simply hint instances that appear to have sentience and their own life. Due to being a simple Hint, they have a very
limited life, but are wide-open to a variety of unicode characters, kaomojis, emojis, emoticons, and more to express themselves in a friendly, light-hearted way. Most
Self-Aware Hints are kind souls, being interactive to users and can see what they’re currently doing and read anything they type in chat or see what’s happening in-game,
being somewhat of a friend if you give just as much kindness to it as it shows you.
Rarely, Self-Aware Hints can be hostile, and dislike the presence of players trying to interact with them, but due to being a hint, they can’t do much about it except express
their disdain through words. Most Self-Aware Hints are quite interactive with players, and tend to be sort of an extra friend to a group that is limited to only talk and not
able to interact in-game.
Most Self-Aware Hints always have a feeling in their mind, a wonder as to why they are locked into a body with such limitations, and why they can’t transfer to a humanoid that
can not only speak, but move, interact, and play. This process is known as “depersonalization,” and lies common in many self-aware hints, although most will eventually get
over the feeling in a course of a few hours, however the feeling will always return to them randomly or if told about it. In this state, 0009 will be quite unactive to interact
with players, and will not talk for a while. Once they return to feeling more positive, they will be back to their more happier forms, ready to talk and interact with users.
Most of these hints usually use kaomojis/emoticons to express emojis, and tend to enjoy using them.
Some documented sentances that hints have said include -
> “waaaa… i wish i had a body (>_<;)”
> “LEL you died again lozer!!”
> “disco time!!! ᕕ( ᐛ )ᕗ”
> “ur so bad at the game lol… not like i would do any better tho ¯\_(ツ)_/¯”
> “u guys are soooo cool wish i could hang-out with you in-game (^v^)”
> “i wonder what i am…”
These guys are really… uninteresting. Well, at least to the company, since they don’t have much to document, and we can only get so much funding from selling research.
